Cisco MCU(Codian) Cascading

if you want to expand the video conference, MCU cascading may be needed.

Cisco(Codian) can support multi MCU cascading to invite many participants.


Requirements is.
VCS, TMS, MCUs, Video Endpoints.

in this post, Suppose to MCU1 is Master and MCU2 is Slave.

- The participants on MCU1(Master) are ChairPerson. always visible on screen.
- The participants on MCU2(Slave) are Guest. only one presenter can visible on screen.(Voice priority)


at the time of MCU Cascading conference,

the participants of MCU2 could watch all participants of MCU1,

but the participants of MCU2 could show themselves on one part of screen, when their speaking.

so, you should consider the layout of screen carefully.

Procedure is simple.

MCU cascading is only supported by TMS scheduling.

after registering endpoints and MCUs to VCS and TMS, just schedule the conference.

TMS will distribute endpoints to MCU considering their resources if possible(Options).
